How ATM Skimming in 2008 Led Us to Build Better Security
In 2008, ATM skimming was accelerating across Europe. Banks were losing millions, and the available solutions were generic, unreliable, and incompatible with the diverse ATM estates that financial institutions actually operated. GLAB IT SOLUTIONS SRL was founded to change that.
Starting with hardware anti-skimming modules purpose-built for the Romanian market — one of the regions most heavily targeted by organised ATM fraud rings — we rapidly expanded our solutions across Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Today, ATM Fortify's products are deployed by commercial banks, credit unions, and independent ATM deployers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Our hardware-first approach — where physical protection is independent of software and network infrastructure — remains our defining engineering philosophy.
